MONSTER PROJECT

This year we are participating in the global monster project. To participate your class has to write a description for a body part. Our class wrote the description for the Bellybutton. We all had a body part to draw and make. The body parts that I made were the ipod and the left eye.  Then I had to take over the knees and the the head and the feet and I helped Gerard make the Jet Ski. The hardest part that I made was the feet because the were 150 centermetres long and 90 centermetres wide! The easiest part that I made was the head because it was 60 centermeters long and it was 46 centermetres wide and I just used cardboad and painted it aqua! 
My favourite part that I made was the ipod because It had horns and it was glittery also it was fun to make. To make the monster we used a lot of maths lots of problem solving lots of English lots of teamwork and lots of self-directed-learning.

OUR LITRACY ROTATIONS

Every day do litracy rotations.We have 4 rotations thay
are write/blog,read to self,read to others and lastly
listening to reading.In write/blog we have 3 options to
are do thay ideas book, blog, journaling, we have to do it four days a week. In read to self we get our own book and read it and do a reading response.In read to others you get a book that you have read before and
talk about what characters there are if there is a problem and then read it to your partner. In listening
to reading you can only have 5 people in there,we
have to get the ipad choose a book and listen to them
read.

HOW TO MAKE A FOTOBABBLE

Fotobabble is an app on the iphone,ipodtouch.To useFotobabble you have to be on the ipodtouch or the iphone.First you have to make something and take a photo on Fotobabble and next you record your voice.When you're done you name it.Finaly touch share and it has three options 1 I know is twitter and go to twitter if you want to put it on a blog.Next you need a computer for this go to the websitefotobabble.com.au login and type the username and password.Then it will take you to all the Fotobabbles you've done click on the one you want and go to the bottom and copy the 2nd code.The last step is go to new post go to edit html and paste the code then go to compose and take a look and there it is theFotobabble you made!I used Fotobabble to share a pattern I made to talk about our thinking.Have you made a Fotobabble?

DIAMANTE POEM

 Today we looked at a diamonte poem.A diamante poem is on the first line write a beginning topic, next write two adjectives, and on the 3rd line  write three ing words, then on the forth line write four
nouns or a short phrase,on the 5th line write three ing words again 
but about the ending topic on the sixth line write two adjectives
about the ending topic. Lastly write your ending topic.
This is my diamante poem:
                   Dogs
              jumps cute
   running jiggling wiggling
 puppy, kitten,  calf, joey, lamb
   scratching curling scaring
           soft cuddly
                cats.

BOOK WEEK

  This week  it is Book week. We are having a book week parade where we have to have to dress up as our favourite book character on Wednesday.Book week is when  every year,many Australian schools and libraries celebrate Australian books illustrators and authors.The picture book of the year is called mirror by Jeannie baker.I am dressing up as Harry potter.What I am using to dress up as Harry potter is:

MRS M WINNING AN AWARD

Last week on Thusday we had a skype with Mrs knee it was about spring we thought it was odd because it is not spring for us but then Mrs knee explained the skype conection then we had to have no video then we had a skype call with mrs cassidy,mrs adams and a lady from ISTE she was called Ms.Sieberman she told mrs m she had won a award called Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Tecnology Based PK-2 Education. she won it because we use lots of technology in the class room and at home. To get the award she will have to go to Philldelphia to the ISTE conference but before Mrs M is going to be with Mrs Knee and the Kinder kids for two weeks. I'm glad I was in Mrs M class beause in other year two classes thay don't do as much blogging and I wouldn't have my own blog.

INNOVATING ON A POEM

Today we read the poem doodledum dancing it had lots of action words ending in ing.Next I wrote some text like the first verse in doodledum dancing this is the first verse:

I'm rocking i'm reeling

I'm wirlligig wheeling

tip-tapping my toesies

and singing this song.

Now this is what I wrote:

I'm prancing i'm pumping

I'm bolting i'm bumping

I'm bo-bouncing my bonies

and humming my song.

BRINGING OUR POEM TO LIFE

We wrote a poem about a monster. It had descriptive words but it didn't rhyme.Today we draw a monster and painted it then added   materials.Then I did a Audioboo here it is.

SPEEDING BOATS

I think speeding boats hurt the wild life.
If you drive your boats too fast they can cut off the seagrass because of this the dugongs are almost extinct.

If your boats speeds it can knock sand off the islands because of the large waves therefore the islands can get smaller.

I think if you speed and you have water in the back as a result of this the water bottles can fall in the water and can make algae grow.
So be wise and do not speed.

VISITING MRS JULER

One day we viseted mrs Juler in the librey to do a stoy a on a website it's called progressive stoy projocet.com.The story is like this.Oliver Rose woke up early that Easter morning to discover there were NO Easter eggs. Oliver lived with his parents and his twin sister, Savannyah in a little town called Kangaroo Corner.

Quickly, Oliver rushed to wake up his sister by jumping on her.
"There's no Easter eggs!" he yelled desperately.

Savannyah replied sleepily, "You're just dreaming, Ollie. Go back to bed!"

"I'm serious Savvy. There's NO EASTER EGGS! What could have happened?

And that's what we wrote!

This book is all about a mouse called Geronimo stilton,Geronimo is a fraidy mouse in this book.First in the book it says: It was a nice,quiet spring morning.The sun was shining,and the birds were singing.I woke up feeling cheerful.I decided to treat myself to a nice,relaxing bubble bath.So i grabbed my favourite bath gel,Mr.chadder, and hopped right into the tub. oh, excuse me! Here I am telling you about my personal habits and I haven't even introduced myself.My name is stilton, geronimo stilton. That's the start of the book.I like this book because I do ju-jit-su and that is like karate!It was funny when Geronimo banged his head on the sink.I didn't like it when Geronimo was tied.I am up to a chapter called the karate world championship.Have you read Geronimo?
